Founded in 1987 and acquired in 2019, Council Oak Books has focused on publishing books by Indigenous voices as well as mind/body/spirit titles. Among its most popular books have been Beyond Fear: A Toltec Guide to Freedom & Joy, Native New Yorkers: The Legacy of the Algonquin People of New York, and The Deaths of Sybil Bolton: Oil, Greed, and Murder on the Osage Reservation.
