6 Tips to Crash a Holiday Party

By

With the holiday parties ramping up, we asked Adrian Maher, author of Uninvited: Confessions of a Hollywood Party Crasher, to share his ultimate tips on how to crash a holiday party. Drawing on more than 20 years of interviews, anecdotes and personal experiences, Uninvited recounts Adrian’s unique journey through the most exclusive L.A. celebrity societies as he gatecrashes Tinseltown’s celebrity party circuit, while also struggling with the collapse of his industry and personal tragedies. Read his tips below and order the book now for more insights. We hope you enjoy your holiday gatecrashing extravaganzas!

1) Research hosts beforehand and compile short list of their friends, associates and clients for name-dropping if cornered and peppered with questions as to how you got invited.

2) Never lock eyes with security nor engage them in any conversation no matter how seemingly friendly.

3) Don’t be the first to belly up to the bar or the buffet.

4) Don’t guzzle drinks or hoard desserts.

5) Always dress appropriately: If crashing an art gallery holiday party, wear a flashy hair shirt, colorful clogs and loud eyewear—blend in.

6) If clumped with three or more crashers at an event immediately disperse as some are known to security and you could get caught in a reprobate round-up.
