Chicago Review Press publishes general nonfiction on a wide range of subjects including autobiography, biography, craft, DIY, film, food and drink (not cookbooks), history, music, parenting, popular culture, popular science, sports, travel, and women's issues. We publish quality books by expert authors on topics people are passionate about. Our books often share an independent spirit that's a little quirky, edgy, and sometimes controversial. We like to give voice to those who have been marginalized, as in our cult classics The Mole People: Life in the Tunnels of New York City and My Bloody Life: The Making of a Latin King. We are always looking for books that provide valuable new information or a fresh take on a subject, such as Harry Truman's Excellent Adventure and Little Girl Blue: The Life of Karen Carpenter. And books with a strong DIY or how-to component have been perennial bestsellers for us, including Outwitting Squirrels, Outdoor Survival Skills, and Backyard Ballistics.
